Hi, this is where I talk about some of my unusual approaches to navigating life.

April Spendings: Throwing a Birthday Party

Overall, this was an expensive month for me. I am more social lately and spending more time going out hence the ATM usage. I am partially wondering if it is because my job requires me to be more communicative for a project I am now working on.

March Spendings: Its a long road

This experiment of anaylizing/blogging about my spendings has a lot of unintended consequences. Auditing my expenses regularly has allowed me to tie together my emotional state with the trends in spending. That information has allowed me to see how external factors, such as work, may be impacting my well-being based on how I was feeling and behaving for a given period of time. I use to feel guilt when I impulse shopped. Now I realize that there is more going on and I shouldn’t internalize those thoughts.

Febuary Spendings: A Fresh Start

Starting the month of Febuary, I will be tracking all my financial transactions and looking for ways to mininimize my expenses. My plan is to avoid unplanned, impulsive spending.

Life After Ironman

For years, I’ve trained everyday for the Ironman competition here in Madison, WI. I did well for all of my races, especially for the bike event. I never took the event too seriously and tried to have as much fun as possible. It was not uncommon to go through 2-3 beers during the run.

A Year of Run Commuting

I have been run commuting almost everyday for the last year. Most run commutes are within 5 miles and add anywhere 10 - 30 minutes to my commute time. Since my running is broken up throughout the day, it makes for more frequent, shorter runs that allows me to recover more quickly.

How Not to Run a Race

Well, I am not sure how I won the fun run 5k race at SIIM this year in Washington DC. I managed to miss the turnaround and ran an extra 100m. I guess the second and third place must have felt sorry for me and waited waited for me to come back.
